Ranking

XTB ranks number 30 on TraderGuide’s ranking list. The ranking list is based on the cost of trading with XTB, in the 16 most commonly traded instruments globally.

What you need to know about XTB

XTB—formerly X‑Trade Brokers—was founded in 2002 in Poland and has grown into a publicly listed global broker, regulated by the FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), KNF (Poland), BaFin (Germany), CNMV (Spain), and IFSC (Belize) for non-EU clients.

With over 6,000 instruments available, XTB offers a broad market range—including forex, indices, commodities, stocks, ETFs, bonds, and crypto CFDs. Its proprietary xStation 5 platform combines intuitive design, advanced charting tools, real-time news, sentiment data, and algorithmic trading options.

What do we like about XTB?

XTB delivers a polished and professional trading experience. The xStation 5 platform stood out in our testing—its layout is clear, responsive, and packed with useful features like a trading calculator, sentiment data, and integrated research. Execution during our live sessions was fast and reliable, with no requotes or delays.

In terms of pricing, XTB offers excellent value on key instruments, and they charge no commission on stocks and ETFs up to €100,000 in monthly volume. For traders on the move, the xStation mobile app mirrors desktop functionality and supports one-click trading, making it a strong option for both desktop and mobile users.

Education and support are strengths as well. XTB’s Trading Academy, webinars, video tutorials, and daily market analysis are all integrated into the platform—ideal for both beginners and seasoned traders. Multilingual support is available 24/5 via live chat, phone, and email, and we found the team both responsive and knowledgeable.

What concerns us about XTB?

Despite its many strengths, XTB isn’t without limitations. CFD spreads on non-forex instruments—such as certain stock, commodity or bond products—can be comparatively higher. Additionally, while xStation is user-friendly, it may feel overwhelming for beginners used to simpler UIs, and heavy MetaTrader users might miss the familiar environment.

Another point to consider: currency conversion fees of around 0.5 % apply when trading outside your account currency, which can impact costs over time. Lastly, XTB does not offer guaranteed stop-loss orders, which may concern risk-averse or highly volatile strategy traders.

Should you trade with XTB?

XTB presents a compelling package: a robust platform, extensive instrument range, and strong regulation across Europe and beyond. They’ve struck a good balance between innovative technology and client protection.

For traders who prioritise tight forex spreads, commission-free stock and ETF trading (up to certain limits), and prefer a modern, integrated platform, XTB is an excellent choice. It particularly appeals to those looking for a one-stop solution with strong educational content and global support.

However, if you rely heavily on MetaTrader or want guaranteed stop-loss functionality, you might want to explore alternative platforms. Similarly, serious commodity or bond CFD traders should monitor non-forex trading costs closely.

In short, XTB offers a polished, transparent, and versatile trading environment—ideal for traders at all levels who want a reliable, modern broker with deep resources and excellent execution.
